The mountains in the summertime are truly something special. From the weather to the lush greenery, everything about it is pure bliss. When I get the chance to be a part of a mountain top engagement in the summer months I am overjoyed.

So when the day finally came for Sidney and Zach’s session, I was SO ready! We found a lovely little spot off of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Purlear, NC, and every minute of our time together was magic. The weather was perfect and the cloud cover made for some incredible photos! Secondarily, we had the place all to ourselves which gave us such freedom to explore and be creative without worrying about people in the background. They decided on two different wardrobe choices, which I think turned out great and fit their personality perfectly.

In order to have a successful engagement session, I have a few tips:

1. Clean your ring and let it SHINE! During engagement shoots, I will definitely place on emphasis on the engagement ring, both on your finger and off. You’d be surprised how detailed some lenses can be, so the cleaner the better!
2. Consider the timeline. I suggest aiming to arrive to your session 15-30 minutes early, just in case. Specifically, if you’re doing a session on the Blue Ridge Parkway, as sometimes traffic can be dense.
3. Relax and have FUN! I promise to make this enjoyable and fun for you, and your photos will be amazing!
