It’s such a pleasure when I get to capture bridal portraits for a client. How lucky am I that I’m one of the only ones that gets a sneak peek of a bride before her wedding day? It’s one of the best parts of my job! I had so much fun with Madison at Separk Mansion in Gastonia, NC. She rocked her session and looked flawless!
There are a few things to consider before your bridal portrait session. Bridal portraits usually last a few hours when considering hair and makeup time. With that said, you will need to plan a day off of work, or at least a half day as these sessions are usually done during the week. Typically, these sessions are done about 3-5 weeks before the wedding day, once the final dress fitting has been completed. This is a great time for the bride to experience a trial run with her hair, makeup, and dress with all the accessories. If for some reason something needs tweaking, there usually is some time to make some changes before the big day.
Another thing to consider is having a “helper” come with you. This can be your mom, sister, or friend. It’s incredibly helpful to have someone there to help you carry items, assist you in getting dressed, and be there for anything you need. Lastly, don’t forget about a bouquet! Be sure to coordinate your bridal portraits with your florist so you can get a bridal bouquet made. This is also a great time to be sure you like the bouquet they designed! If not, be sure to give feedback on what you’d like to change on wedding day.
I hope you enjoyed Madison’s photos and learned some helpful information about bridal portraits!
