Summer heat is in full swing here in North Carolina, which has me dreaming about cooler temperatures. Is it sweltering heat where you live? If so, any tips on what you’re doing to beat the heat are appreciated! Although I love all of the adventures to be had in the summer, I am thoroughly looking forward to winter time! Speaking of winter, there is something absolutely magical about winter afternoon light as it nears dusk – it’s hard to put into words how golden, warm, and glowy it is. For Adrienne’s winter maternity session in Purlear, North Carolina, the winter light was totally showing off.

Adrienne was a referral by a past client, Jade (you can see her session here). I am so grateful when clients refer me to their friends, it is truly the best compliment! Aside from being friends and my clients, do you know what else they have in common? They both wore bright jewel toned dresses! I’m obsessed with the look – so beautiful for a winter maternity session. If you’ve ever wanted to wear a fancy dress, your maternity session is definitely the time to do it.

For this session, it was quite chilly, but we were able to capture some residual snow left on the ground. Despite the chilly temps, these two were troopers for their winter maternity session. Moreover, I think the touches of snow added a bit of magic, don’t you?
