If cows aren’t a part of your farm engagement session, you’re doing it wrong! Kidding, kidding – but Cassidy and Wyatt really set the bar high with their session in Cleveland, North Carolina. Wyatt’s family owns this beautiful property in the rolling hills near Statesville. Surrounded by trees, cattle, and wide open Carolina skies, it was the perfect backdrop for this sweet couple to capture their love. Additionally, this property is where they’ll hold their wedding, talk about sentimental!
In 2018, I photographed Wyatt’s sister’s wedding, and I’m always so honored when previous clients recommend me to their family. As a result, Cassidy and Wyatt asked me to photograph their farm engagement session, I jumped at the chance! It was so fun to be a part of this chapter of their love story. They are spontaneous and fun-loving, which meant they were open to some creative ideas. I loved how they wanted to incorporate the cattle, and the cow hide couch. This was definitely not a “status quo” engagement session by any means – it’s not every day a cow stands within the frame of my couples. As someone who loves farm life, I was definitely in my element. And as an added bonus, their sweet pup also made a cameo, just look at that doggy smile!
As we closed in on the night and were chasing the sunset, we were able to get some amazing shots. I am obsessed with the last image. Scroll all way to the bottom and all you see is Cassidy and Wyatt’s silhouette with a beautiful vibrant sunset sky engulfing them with color. Due to their “go with the flow” mentality, they agreed to all of my ideas. I have to say, although I love ALL of my sessions, this farm engagement session was definitely one for the books.
Thanks for reading! If you’re into cattle engagements, here is another session featuring some furry sweeties!
