I love working with all my clients, but it’s always such a treat having a friend on the other end of my lens! I’ve been friends with Erin for some time now, who is also a photographer. Occasionally we will second shoot with each other, which is always a good time. When you’re a photographer, you can be quite particular about who you choose to capture your own personal photos. With that said, I was so honored when she asked me to capture a farm portrait session for her family.
As a self proclaimed farm girl myself, I enjoy any chance I get to step foot on a field full of cows. Erin and her husband, Tyler, own a cattle farm in a small town called Newton, just outside of Charlotte. With access to such a beautiful property, it was only fitting they documented their current state of life there – the cows were just a bonus!
The cows weren’t the only ones stealing the show with their cuteness. Erin and Tyler’s adorable children, Layton and Mayven, were absolutely precious. Mister Layton was quite the ham while we had to work a little harder to earn Miss Mayven’s shy little smile. However, she eventually caved and gave us a sweet smile (see below). I thought it was incredibly adorable that Layton matched his daddy with the cowboy hat and belt buckle.
Thank you Lutz family, for allowing me to be a part of your cattle farm portrait session! I loved the property, the cows, and your sweet kiddos. If you want to see more cow content, click here and here. Enjoy!
