When my best friend Kassy came to me and asked me to do her maternity photos, of course I said yes. I felt so honored to capture this momentous occasion for her and her husband Tyler.

Kassy and I have been friends for many many years and we enjoy a lot of the same things such as the mountains and hiking. The mountains seemed like a perfect location to shoot her maternity session it would be much cooler up there which is a plus for a pregnant lady & it’s the mountains, it’s beautiful! We didn’t have to do too much hiking which was great for Kassy, the wildflowers were blooming which was a nice surprise.

This session gave us an excuse to have a slumber party with our fur babies, we had to be up EARLY for this sunrise session that was a little under 2 hours away on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I had never been to Doughton Park before to shoot, but I loved it and I will definitely be back for more sessions & for hiking, there are so many neat trails that I’d love to explore.

I’m so excited for my friends and I’m even more excited to see if they’re having a BOY or a GIRL… I’m voting BOY, but we will find out soon enough in September!

I hope they’ll cherish these photos as much as I’ll cherish the adventure Kassy & I had capturing them.
