The summer is a busy time for my husband and usually one of the hardest stretches of the race season with very little down time. Summer seems to be the opposite for me it’s hot and humid and no one wants to schedule a photo session in that mess. We were lucky that the race teams had an off weekend in their schedule.
It was a great opportunity to relax, get away & recharge before the busy season. Did I mention we celebrated my 30th birthday this past Saturday as well, how is that even possible. So a little bit about turning 30 (it feels weird). It’s hard to believe my 20’s are behind me & I’m officially in my 30’s now. But I’m not having a break down or anything trust me, I’m truly blessed to be living this beautiful life another year! I have so much to be thankful for in my personal life & in my business! I’ve been told your 30’s are the best years so I personally can’t wait -bring it on!
When we take these mini vacations we love to make sure Sadie Mae can come along for the adventure as well, that’s super important to us. So with the help of VRBO we found a quaint little cabin on the South Holston River in Bristol, TN. It was perfect!
With 2 lakes around (South Holston Lake & Watauga Lake) & 2 rivers there (South Holston & Watauga Rivers) there was plenty to do. We kayaked, floated the rivers, fished (these rivers are some of the BEST trout fishing in the eastern US.) I’ve never seen rivers this crystal clear & COLD! The mountain views were also spectacular.
We had a busy weekend, but managed to go out for dinner to the famous Burger Bar in downtown Bristol for what was an amazing burger (one of the best in Virginia). In case you didn’t know Bristol is shared by two states Virginia & Tennessee!
Of course I took a few photos(some are from my phone, but some are professional quality)
Beautiful pictures. Happy 30’s!!
Thank you!
