The mountains are seriously my happy place. In the summer time, they are rich with all sorts of green hues. Moreover, the way the shadows dance around the tree tops is just magical! Of course, here in North Carolina, the edges seem to be lined with deep blue gray undertones – hence the name “Blue Ridge Mountains”. With that said, I leap at any chance I get to head to the mountains for a session. So when Krista and Connor asked me to capture their anniversary session on the mountaintops, I was all in.
Krista is in fact a photographer herself living in the Fayetteville area, you can check her out here. I’m always very flattered when another photographer wants me to capture their special moments. It should be noted we photographers tend to be a bit picky when it comes to our photos 🙃. I also was amazed she wanted to make the long drive to meet me, but they were thrilled to do it.
Krista and Connor got married in the crazy year that we all know as 2020. With that said, weddings were generally small and executed much differently than originally planned – which was the case for these two. Since 2020 was chaos, they wanted to set aside a time separately from their wedding, with just them, to celebrate how far they’ve come as a couple. I had so much fun capturing their love, and their sweet pup, Theo. He was too cute! Krista and Connor, it was a pleasure photographing these special moments for you. I hope you treasure them for a lifetime!
Often times couples think of certain photo opportunities where they hire a photographer. These include their engagement session, their wedding, and in the future – a family session. Alternatively, celebrating your wedding anniversary is also an incredible time to document the love you share. These sessions are a more laid back way to capture the life you’ve built together since your wedding day. Long after the vendors are paid, and you’ve finally given away every last leftover koozie – you’re only left with one another. Marriage takes grit, commitment, and lots of grace – why not celebrate your anniversary like the victory that it is with a photo session? I’d love to document it for you!
